Standard Velux installations on the rear roof slope typically fall under permitted development and do not need planning permission. Front-facing Velux windows, properties in conservation areas, and listed buildings may require consent. We advise on this during the survey and can prepare supporting information where needed.
A single Velux window installation is typically a one-day job. We cut the opening, install the frame, flash with the correct lead or GRP surround, and make good the internal plasterwork reveal. Multiple windows on the same visit can usually be completed in 1–2 days.
